What are polarized sunglasses?
Polarized lenses contain certain polarized filters that reduce glare reflected off shiny surfaces such as water.

So how does it work? When light is reflected from these shiny surfaces, this is usually horizontally polarized. The horizontal polarized light is blocked by vertically oriented polarizers in lenses. The result is a reduction in glare and increase in comfort.

Please read the technology page for more information.

What is UV protection?
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is part of the natural radiation found in the invisible light spectrum. There are 3 ranges UV: UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. Prolonged exposure to UV-A and B rays may increase the possibility of significant eye damage, including temporary discomfort to long-term vision problems such as cataracts.

To avoid eye diseases from the effects of long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, Tifosi™ Optics is specially treated to offer 100% UVA and UVB protection on all Tifosi™ sunglasses.

Is lens color important?
The color of the lenses in Tifosi™ sunglasses have various benefits to suit your application. All interchangeable lenses include three different types of lenses to help broaden your use.

Grey/Smoke lenses show the least amount of color distortion and is perfect for basic all-purposes uses.

Our polarized lenses reduce glare from shiny surfaces such as water or snow.

Our AC Red™ lenses will offer a brighter view in cloudy, hazy or foggy weather as the color blocks blue light.

Our clear lenses provide excellent eye protection and clarity in near dark and dark conditions.

Do any Tifosi™ Optics eyewear have options for corrective lenses?
To date in the UK there is not a facility to offer this service, but we are working on it. The RX inserts are available.

Please visit the Rx page general information, and styles available.

What do the interchangeable sunglasses include?
All Tifosi™ Interchangeable sunglasses include multiple lenses to use in different lighting conditions and the Eclipse™ carrying case to hold your sunglasses and lenses.

What is Grilamid TR-90?
Grilamid Tr-90 is a homopolyamide nylon characterized by an extremely high alternative bending strength, remarkable toughness, exceptional resistance to chemicals, low density, and a remarkably high resistance to UV damage and breakdown. Translation - almost indestructible!
